shark attacks are not new in fact they
go way back
an early example from recorded history
dates to the greco-persian wars around
492 bc when persians first invaded
greece things were going well for
military commander mardonius until his
fleet was caught in a terrible storm
causing almost 300 ships to sink
that’s when the sharks came in
greek historian herodotus describes the
story in his opus the histories the sea
monsters moved in to seize and devour
many of the tens of thousands of sailors
in the water
