Luigi Manon the suspect in the killing of a United Health Group executive is being charged with new federal murder and stalking crimes according to a court document filed on Thursday the development came on the same day Manon agreed to be sent to New York to face other state charges that had previously been announced by prosecutors there Manon waved his right to extradition proceedings in pennslvania where he was arrested earlier this month the federal prosecutors in Manhattan are charged ing him with the crime of murder using a firearm two charges of stalking and an additional Firearms offense according to a criminal complaint the prosecutors say they have jurisdiction because mangon quote traveled in interstate commerce by taking a bus from Atlanta to New York before the killing federal charges potentially allow prosecutors to pursue the death penalty which has been outlawed in New York for decades a grand jury in New York has already indicted Manon on 11 counts including first-degree murder and murder as an act of terrorism the 26-year-old has been in jail since his arrest and has not yet entered a plea his New York defense lawyer has said Manon has been overcharged and that he would fight the charges in court Manon was arrested in Altuna Pennsylvania on December 9th 5 days after Brian Thompson was fatally shot outside a Manhattan hotel law enforcement officials say it was a premeditated assassination
