Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah have stepped back from the brink of war the two sides have been on a collision course since last October when Hezbollah began attacking Israel almost immediately after Israel’s war against Hamas erupted since then the two sides have been exchanging fire almost every day and there are widespread concerns that this low-level fighting could escalate into a broader region-wide War those concerns have heightened in recent weeks after Israel killed a top hisbah commander in Lebanon and hamas’s leader was killed in an explosion in Iran early Sunday the mid East went on edge when Israel struck dozens of hisbah Targets in Lebanon it said that this was a preemptive attack hisbah responded by sending hundreds of rockets and drones into Israel but almost as quickly as this fighting erupted things quieted down while the situation remains tense both sides have signaled they do not want to see a major escalation
