I actually worked in the service industry um I started at age 17 working in the service industry I was a Hostess and I um was a part of the sub minimum wage but where I was working we were strongly dependent on tips I was working at Hooters so for me it was really um a game of chance every single day um I never knew what I was going to come home with um I never knew it was really a roller coaster um I didn’t know week by week or every two weeks when we got our check um if it would be enough to get through the month and it was just a weird way to live for a few years and then you really realize that this is happening to so many people for so long now 30 years now the sub minimum wage has been $2.13
