video
play-rounded-fill

[Music] Israel has some of the most advanced air defense systems in the world but these billion dollar systems are being tested since the hummus attack on Israel on October the 7th Iran and its proxies have fired missiles drones and Rockets at Israel which relies on a multi-layered system of air defenses the most well-known component is the so-called Iron Dome which intercepts missiles and Rockets with a short range from four to 70 km Israel says that intercepts around 90% of the projectiles fired at populated areas in 2017 Israel installed a system known as David’s sling designed to detect and Destroy ballistic and cruise missiles and drones with a range of up to 200 km that covers Southern Lebanon as well as Gaza Israel also possesses the advanced Arrow defense system developers say that can intercept missiles with a range of over 2,000 km and can do so outside of Earth’s atmosphere that’s where long-range missiles spend a part of their flight time the Israeli military is also testing a laser based system known as the iron beam that’s designed for closer range projectiles but isn’t expected to be online until at least mid 2025 but despite all of this Israel has admitted its defenses risk being overwhelmed if a large number of projectiles are fired simultaneously it’s thought that Hezbollah could launched some 3,000 rockets and missiles a day in the event of an allout War far exceeding the capacity to intercept them Israel and the US said damage from Iran’s latest barrage was limited but video indicates that at least some of the projectiles did break through
