the storm did bring much destruction and damage tornadoes ravaged parts of the east coast of the state flooding occurred on the west and east coast and strong winds lashed the state hurricane Milton barreled across Florida where it knocked out power to millions of customers and whipped up tornado warnings more than 3 million homes and businesses are still without power Florida’s Central Gulf Coast was hardest hit by the outages at least five people died in the storm and that number could rise throughout the day Florida Governor Ronda santis said water levels may continue to rise in coming days but on Thursday the worst storm surge appeared to be in Sarasota County where it was 8 to 10 ft First Responders have been working all through the night to help people who were in distress and what we can say is the storm was significant but thankfully this was not the worst case scenario
