your favorite college football or basketball player could be a millionaire he or she certainly can’t be considered an amateur anymore what was once considered forbidden in college sports has become the norm a Supreme Court ruling in 2021 set the stage for players to be able to accept money in exchange for their name image and likeness that’s what brought us to what we call the nil era in college sports and starting next year comes the next step those players can accept that nil money directly from the colleges they play for the players certainly aren’t amateurs anymore but the NCAA and the colleges they play for aren’t quite ready to call them Pros yet and thanks to rules that make it so much easier for players to transfer they often look for the highest bidder before they make their next move coaches like to call this the wild wild west but the players who did this for nothing while the coaches made Millions for years don’t have much sympathy the year 2025 is going to be all about finding rules and regulations that can make this new system work
