four years ago Oregon voters passed a first in the nation measure that legalized the therapeutic use of siloc cybin the Psychedelic compound found in so-called magic mushrooms but a growing number of cities are voting to ban the substance which remains federally illegal in the November election four cities added new voter approved prohibitions and a dozen other communities voted to make temporary bans permanent and those who are Banning it I think probably represent an old drug war kind of stigma that still out there this medicine is is helping my trauma recovery people in ways that I could never have imagined it brings up material that there’s no way to get to and talk therapy despite the local bands in Oregon psilocybin remains accessible in over 30 licensed centers but access is further Complicated by high costs one session can be up to $2,000 out of pocket and that’s largely because Center owners and facilitators pass on the high cost of lure to Consumers
