I’m riding out hurricane Milton in a hotel in downtown Tampa and the storm has made landfall in Siesta Key about an hours drive south of where I am we are absolutely still seeing the effects of the storm wind whipping through the trees here rain pounding against the windows some of the rain has seeped through underneath uh the window into our room you can see standing water on some of the streets here at this hotel we still have power downstairs in the lobby families are hanging out out playing board game some people are sitting at the bar having a drink we talked to one woman here whose husband works at the hotel and so she and their eight children are riding out the storm here while he finishes out his shifts and we’re all just waiting for the storm to pass
