I got cut in line at the airport it was by somebody who subscribes to a service called clear you’ve probably seen them it’s a kind of Disneyland Fastpass for airport security using eyeball scans cost about $200 per year I’ve always been interested in a little bit confused in how this company became part of airport security so I got documents from 30 different airports including financials and internal emails we learned that clear has some threats to its business uses down in big airports like LAX more people are cancelling and the government is working on its own competing Tech they’ve also had some security mishaps and one case a guy found a boarding pass in a trash can and still got through this led to stricter rules for Clear which slowed things down today you hear a lot of people griping that TSA pre-check is actually faster clear says its business is doing just fine I mean they’re pulling in over 700 million per year and are worth more than some Airlines
