my most amazing experience with an
elephant was probably spending a day
with an elephant called Roy at the
sheldrick wildlife trust elephant
orphanage Roy been orphaned when her
mother had been poisoned and I’d gone to
kind of cover the story of her
Rehabilitation she’s living with a group
of other elephants all of whom have been
through pretty traumatic experiences
when they were orphaned it was lovely to
see them all living together as a group
and living with their amazing handlers
and what they do there is basically
bring them up they all hang out in a
group and learn to be elephants together
eventually they get released back into
the wild elephants aren’t just cute and
lovely to watch they’re actually really
important for the ecosystems they help
with regrowth they help build water
holes for other animals the list of
things they do is extraordinary so we
need them
