video
play-rounded-fill

one group both camela Harris and Donald Trump have made a focus to attract our Latinos who make up about 15% of the electorate for Trump the focus suffer a major blowback after a commedian and a rally for him insulted Puerto Ricans calling the territory a floating island of garbage a trump advisor distanced the campaign from the joke saying it does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign but Puerto Ricans who live on the island cannot vote those who live on the mainland kill and they’re the second largest group of Hispanics in the country there are about 5 8 million Puerto Ricans living in the US versus 3.2 million leaving in Puerto Rico and it is estimated that in Pennsylvania a maor swing state 3.1% of the voters are Puerto Rican so why can’t Island residents vote in the general election in 1819 the US invaded Puerto Rico as part of the Spanish American war and then the island was seated by Spain these men Puerto Ricans were granted US citizenship automatically up and birth but without all the rise of those on the mainland today they get to send one delegate to the US House of representative but they cannot vote on matters that come to a full housee vote and in the Senate the territories have no representation at all the island has held six down biting boat on whether to seek State hood and another one will be held on November 5th only Congress has the power to change the status of Puerto Rico and it could be expected to put a very high bar on creating the 51st US state
