so we know that after many many months of seeking to find the leader of Hamas Israel says it has killed him and what seems to be more a chance encounter than a really targeted strike but either way his death is significant he was The Mastermind of the October 7 attack on Israel he’s been the senior figure in for Hamas in Gaza for some years now it’s going to be significant for the war going forward including for Hamas itself because really it’s weakened Hamas significantly inside Gaza but they are warning that they feel they’re going to continue in Gaza because they say there’s much more of Hamas left to take out we can see the Us and other countries including France Now using this moment to press heavily for it to be a ceasefire what we’re seeing though is Israel saying that its overall goal remains to pretty much decimate Hamas completely inside Gaza they’re warning Hamas is still a force to be reckoned with as are the US and others so will this really provide that momentum towards the ceasefire can Hamas group inside Gaza are they weakened to the point they are forced to the table it’s unclear whether it’s going to pave the way for that tree of course the conflict inside Gaza is part of that broader Middle East war that we’re seeing which involves uh Israel also fighting Hezbollah another Iranian proxy inside Lebanon
