I feel like my fashion journey and my Mobility Journey has kind of come hand inand together I feel so much more liberated than I ever have [Music] before I have like not very good connective tissue like the things that hold our joints together are are really loose in me and so in general my whole body works over time to keep me upright like I can’t walk for very long without pain I can’t stand for very long without pain well adaptable fashion I think is really important in terms of people with disabilities um not enough people are even considering that when you’re disabled there’s a different way of dressing I was on Reddit someone was saying oh I I wish there was a way to make compression socks fashionable and I kind of took that as a challenge like let me show you how we can make compression socks fashionable let me show you how I can make uh braces fashionable and like it’s not about trying to make ourselves fit into an image someone else already has but it’s trying to make that fit on to us this is something that you can make a part of you and something that you can make a lot of fun too I have had a lot of fun just customizing my scooter to what I like like your makeup had to be perfect your hair had to be perfect your clothes had to be ironed and cleaned and she always had this idea that if you don’t present yourself as perfect then that’s your fault if people don’t treat you well I think that my sense of style is probably 100% based on does it make me happy when I wear it everything I wear is now all pink and it makes me so happy to see myself in just like one of my favorite colors the Japanese fashion Community has been so so incredibly wonderful they are inclusive they are just welcoming they are supportive everybody can take part in this fashion male or female or non-binary or trans disabled models belong everywhere I mean we wear clothes too we wear the same clothes everybody else wears we’re not only wearing adaptive clothing right we’re and I feel like everybody should have dis a disabled model in their catalog ultimately I just wanted to be more visible I wanted to show that I exist
