law school is shaping up to be a hot ticket this year the number of people who’ve applied to law school is up 26% compared to this time last year which is an unusually large year-over-year increase now experts don’t expect that to hold they are predicting that by the end of the cycle the applicant pool will be 10 to 15% larger than it was last year but that still means that it’s just going to be harder to get into law school this year now interest in law school does typically ramp up during election years and particularly this year we have Toma Harris talking a lot about her career as a prosecutor out on the campaign Trail and that could be prompting more people to think about legal careers the other thing we’re seeing is that people are just applying earlier in the year part of it has to do with a major change to the law school admission test over the summer with the elimination of the so-called logic games portion of the test we’re going to have to wait until the spring to see how this all shakes out but right now it is looking to be a good year for law school admissions offices
