step inside New York City’s U-Haul Art Gallery parked outside the storyed Armory show art fair at the Javit Center this U-Haul costs $29.99 a day to rent as an art gallery that’s free to the public it’s a response to the hyper commodification of space and the high cost of rent in the city it’s an investigation or an exploration into what makes the gallery legitimate and what makes the prices legitimate is the real estate that it’s situated in at about 100 ft total it features 12 artists with prices ranging anywhere from $300 to $6,000 while not affiliated with the U-haul brand or the Armory show the gallery is performative in its own way the booths in here can go for tens of thousands of dollars parking it outside the Armory show where the general admission is $57 is no coincidence it’s the gallery’s fourth show in New York with two more shows planned in October and November
