[Music] I was born nearsighted I was visually impaired from birth and from a very young age I was drawn into art be it from cartoons but mainly from watching Bob Ross as a kid it felt to me like the closest thing to watching magic be done as a kid since I didn’t really have glasses learning being able to see the board being involved in in class wasn’t really an option all the time it was kind of a mechanism as a kid that’s all I knew anything beyond a 6t radius was a blur basically it was something that was physical but also of course affected me psychologically and that’s why I turned into art that’s why I was so drawn into colors and making whatever that I could see make it better I didn’t really see a doctor until I was about almost 12 that’s when I finally got glasses that’s when I found out that I had my Opia stigmatism and eventually when I was my late 20s is when I developed [Music] retinalis actually I found out when I was trying to do a consultation on getting lasic so I was trying to improve my vision and that’s when I was told actually it’s growing backwards so we have to do something about it and 10 days later I was in the operating room so I lost about 20 to 25% of my vision in my right eye on top of having some challenges with my left eye like it did help there is a 85% chance of success in the surgery and I’m considered to be one of the lucky ones after the surgery everyone pretty much develops a cataract so I have one right now not that it it’s a distraction but it inspires me to not care and if anything to make it more special the fact that I can still make art despite all of that and the fact that I’m so lucky to be able to still do it being visually impaired has always meant that every project takes a little bit longer for me but if anything that has helped me build dedication patience in myself but even this Condition it’s something that pushed me to do greater things I mean going through some of the scariest things in my life it gave me The Bravery to take the biggest risk in life and it wasn’t until I painted that first painting a painting of chares Gambino that kind of went viral on Reddit and that’s the painting that offered me the opportunity to pay for my portion of the surgery if you dream big you kind of always to yourself to do something about it to not hold yourself back too much because you may think that you’re protecting yourself when in reality you’re holding yourself back take it from me you owe it to yourself to do something about it if you dream big
