The Majesty of Mount Sneffels: Conquering the Summit of Southwestern Colorado

Getting There:
Mount Sneffels is located in the San Juan Mountains, just north of the town of Ridgway, Colorado. To get there, take Highway 62 north from Montrose to Ridgway, then turn north on County Road 7B. Continue on CR7B for 10 miles, then turn west onto Forest Service Road 612. The road ends at the trailhead, elevation 9,300 feet.
Permits and Regulations:
No permit is required to climb Mount Sneffels, but be sure to follow the rules and regulations of the San Juan National Forest. Be aware of any travel restrictions or closures due to weather, maintenance, or other factors.
Avalanche Risk:
