for months the polls suggested that election night would be a tossup between kamla Harris and Donald Trump but as the results came in on Election night it sure didn’t seem that way with Donald Trump winning more votes in almost every County in America and sweeping all seven Battleground States so did the polls get it wrong they certainly didn’t seem to get it right for the third straight presidential election polsters underestimated Donald Trump’s support in the electorate the final poll averages for every Battleground State suggested that the two candidates were separated by two points or fewer when the votes were counted though only three of the states were actually within that margin it’s the blue wall Michigan Pennsylvania and Wisconsin the other four Battleground States Nevada Arizona Georgia and North Carolina had bigger margin than the polls predicted and when you look at some other states big important States like Florida and Texas Trump way ran ahead of what the polls said where they said he would only win by seven or eight points but it was a double digit Victory before the election pole Watchers caution that even in a toss-up race one candidate could still Emer with a commanding Victory and that seems to be what we got on Election night when Bloomberg called posters they said it would take weeks or months to figure out what went wrong if something even went wrong or if this was just what they call normal polling error
