I’m here in Paris photographing gymnastics for the AP I photographed Simone biles earlier this morning during her qualification session there was a great atmosphere in the stands I saw plenty of celebrities Snoop Dog Tom Cruz Ariana Grande there are so many fans and it was just a ton of fun photographing gymnastics can be kind of tricky because a lot of times there are multiple events happening at the same time as each other that’s why it’s so important to get there early and to really get a game plan together and to know ahead of time where you’re going to be I was asked myself where I think the athletes might turn to celebrate what do I think the peak action might be once I feel I’ve covered enough of the general action I love to go just roam around in the stands or shoot from different angles use slower shutter speeds anything I can do to try to make my photos look a little more artistic it’s been a really fun first few days here in Paris it’s going to be quite the grind but I cannot wait to cover the rest of the games and to see what kind of incredible moments I get to photograph
