the centuries our goods and our food were transported around the world on Majestic sailing ships then of course came the Industrial Age and those sailing ships disappeared replaced by the big container ships that we see now powered by fossil fuels but sail is now making something of a comeback here we’re aboard the grand du it’s a 52 M long cargo ship and in its holds it can carry 300 pallets of food of wine clothes other goods from France that shipped across the Atlantic to New York now of course sailing ships are not going to be replacing the big container vessels anytime soon but the sail is on the C cell and the companies here in France and elsewhere that are experimenting now with sale as a means of Transport are hoping that it will make a little bit of a dent in the pollution of the global shipping industry after all the wind is free
