Winter Wonderland White Hot Chocolate

Winter Wonderland White Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
2 cups whole milk (or any milk of your choice)
1/2 cup heavy cream (for extra richness)
6 oz white chocolate (chopped or in chip form)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional, but adds a nice touch)
Pinch of salt (to balance the sweetness)
Whipped cream (for topping)
White chocolate shavings or grated white chocolate (for garnish)
Mini marshmallows or crushed candy canes (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Heat the Milk and Cream:

In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream. Place the saucepan over medium heat and gently heat the mixture, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to let it come to a boil—just warm it up until it's steaming.
Melt the White Chocolate:

Once the milk and cream are hot, add the chopped white chocolate to the saucepan. Stir constantly until the white chocolate is completely melted and the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
Add Flavor:

Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract (if using), and a pinch of salt. The salt helps to cut the sweetness of the white chocolate and bring out its flavor.
Serve:

Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs. You should have enough for about 2-3 servings, depending on the size of your mugs.
Top and Garnish:

Top each mug with a generous amount of whipped cream.
Garnish with white chocolate shavings or grated white chocolate. You can also add mini marshmallows or crushed candy canes for a festive touch!
Optional Customizations:

For a peppermint twist, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the hot chocolate.
To make it extra indulgent, drizzle some caramel sauce or sprinkle cinnamon over the whipped cream.
