Mushroom Swiss Patty Melt

Mushroom Swiss Patty Melt
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 small onion, thinly sliced
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 slices rye bread
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef Patties:
In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form the beef into 4 equal patties.
Cook the Patties:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables:
In the same skillet, add the olive oil. Add the sliced mushrooms and onions, cooking until they are softened and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Assemble the Patty Melts:
Place a slice of rye bread in the skillet. Top with a beef patty, a generous portion of the mushroom and onion mixture, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Top with another slice of rye bread.
Grill the Sandwich:
Spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter on the top slice of bread. Carefully flip the sandwich and grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches.
Serve:
Slice the patty melts in half and serve hot. Enjoy this hearty and flavorful Mushroom Swiss Patty Melt!
